Yuyu

Yuyu, aka Cyber_Yuyu, aka YuLiang Liu is a Taiwan-born and Berlin-based appropriating collage artist and photographer. Yuyu's creative journey started a decade ago, after relocating to Europe and through the process of discovering his identity and position as a queer Asian in European society. His work is a hybrid form of art and photography, building unexpected and provocative bridges between styles, media, and eras. It appropriates western cultural history and embraces individuality in its most diverse form. It expands the stereotypical definition of art and redefines beauty through the prism of modernity. Yuyu's artworks are manifestations of his vision, designed to shake the theological and elitist dogmas that originated them. YuYu’s educational background is in the field of Architecture where he is a holder of a post-professional Master's Degree from the TungHai University in Taiwan. Shortly after his graduation, YuYu worked alongside leaders of the industry such as “ARCHIMAN Architects” (Shanghai, China) and “ROEWU Architecture” (London, UK). He also briefly served as Teaching Assistant for 3D Software at Columbia University (UK). Before his involvement with the NFT space, YuYu’s work has been featured in a series of publications, including a cover for Siegessaule Magazine —Germany’s leading cultural media platform; while also showcased in several local and international group exhibitions and Yuyu’s solo show at SoHo House Berlin. One of YuYu’s works is owned by and permanently exhibited in the Tom of Finland Foundation HQ located in Los Angeles California, USA.
